Option Red Upgrade

Recently the Intel installation at Sandia National Laboratories has been upgraded to 333 MHz Pentium II processors. It is today (November 1999) the fastest supercomputer performing at about 2 TeraOps per second (RMAX of 2121 equals to 2.121 TeraOps). The computer is built from commodity computing equipment. Interconnection is Intel proprietary.
