CMS related work
The DAQKit is a bundle of online software packages for CMS DAQ with
instructions how to install and how to run a CMS DAQ system. Examples are
A graphical CAD program to design XDAQ based DAQ systems. The tool creates configuration
files for XDAQ and RCMS. DAQ systems can be created, modified and maintained. All relevant
data is stored in relational database.
Hardware Access Library (HAL).
A library to access hardware (PCI or VME) via software. The package
can work with different drivers. It is a abstraction layer between
user application and driver software. HAL is included in XDAQ and
will be maintained by the CMD group.
Subdetector Integration Page.
Here information from the subdetector integration with the DAQ-system is summarized.
to load new firmware into the GIII via the PCI bus. This
package allows to update the firmware without rebooting the PC
housing the GIII (...under certain circumstances...). It uses the

For the TTCrx chip a universal readout module has been developed which can be
plugged onto the GIII card. This setup allows to read out the TTCrx data into

reports are presented: The first
is summarizing the experience made
with the DK1 toolkit and gives hints for people who want to use this
software for the first time. The
second is summarizing the work done
in order to build a FED Emulator for the DAQColumn. This emulator is
targeted for the Generic III card. It implements the data format
currently proposed by the Readout Unit Working Group. For the data
integrity code a checksum and a partial CRC have been implemented.

A course introducing object oriented programming with C++ and Java. The course was given in collaboration with Klaus Ackerstaff for the "3ieme cycle de la physique en Suisse Romande" at the EPFL Lausanne. The homepage of the course contains links to the complete documentation.
The MUon CTP Interface for the Atlas Muon Trigger System has been
developed in 1999. The work is summarized in these pages.
The AtlasRODFormatter is a reusable VHDL module which interfaces to the
ATLAS SLINK. It had been developed for the MUCTPI but can be used by other
designs which allow for VHDL design entry.
